Acid Queen of Electro Sluts Extrodinaire, a model that’s worked with me before, invited me out to a local downtown club here in Austin called Elysium.

I need to get invited to more parties with a Naughty Schoolgirl theme. Hint, hint, models I’ve worked with before… or just anybody really… so long as I get invited to more Naughty Schoolgirl parties ;-)

Every once in a while I drop the pretense of being a “photographer” and wander around, camera in hand, just pointing the lens at anything that looks neat and just push the button. I don’t plan my route, theme, or even really compose my shots all that much. It’s a great stress reliever, and I periodically end up with some great images I never would have expected to get. Here’s a few:

Some friends of mine put on a show this past weekend and asked me to not just come see the show but to also shoot the show. I got a handful of nice images for them, and I got a few that I even decided to insert into my portfolio. Don’t forget to go check out the RAD Dancers and the band, City of Thieves.

I went to a suburb outside of Milwaukee for my little brother’s wedding, and I just couldn’t pass up the chance to take some photos all the way up north in Wisconsin. I got some nice ones at his rehearsal dinner and his reception I was the Best Man and couldn’t shoot the ceremony), but those aren’t really the type of thing that I put in my portfolio. On the other hand, I took a few that did make it in. These were taken in a little burg called Port Washington right on Lake Michigan where they apparently have an annual pirate fest. I now regret not picking up a Pirate Fest t-shirt.

My buddy, Oz threw this party for no apparent reason here in Austin. I did have a good time, and I got to shoot a handful of fun and interesting images. I finally got around to looking through the frames I snapped, and I was happy to find a few gems:
